Vybrant® DyeCycle™ stains for flow cytometry are ideal tools for DNA content analysis in living cells. These DNA-selective stains are cell membrane-permeant and, after binding DNA, emit a fluorescence signal that is proportional to DNA mass. Fluorescence data can be used to generate a frequency histogram that reveals the various phases of the cell cycle. These live-cell dyes allow the simultaneous costaining of the cell population for other parameters and the possibility of cell sorting based on DNA content. The Vybrant® DyeCycle™ Green stain uses the 488 nm laser line. Also available are the Vybrant® DyeCycle™ Violet stain (V35003), which takes advantage of the violet laser line, and the Vybrant® DyeCycle™ Orange stain (V35005), which can be excited with either the 488 nm or 532 nm laser lines. Each vial contains enough stain for ~200 flow cytometry tests.
