The CD4, clone RM4-5, Qdot® 655 nanocrystal conjugate is a rat monoclonal antibody (mAb) (mAb) that recognizes the mouse CD4 antigen. The Qdot® 655 nanocrystal conjugate may be used in the same way as conventional antibody conjugates and is most often used with 405 nm excitation, permitting simultaneous multicolor labeling of multiple targets off the violet laser. Alternatively, the nanocrystal can be excited by any laser up to the wavelength at which it absorbs.

Specificity for CD4
The RM4-5 monoclonal antibody (mAb) reacts with CD4 antigen that is expressed on the majority of thymocytes and on the MHC class II restricted subset of mature T cells, including Th cells. Mouse CD4 antigen has also been reported to be present on multipotential hematopoietic stem cells, bone marrow myeloid precursors, and intrathymic precursors. As a co-receptor in the TCR complex, CD4 is involved in T-cell activation through interaction with MHC class II molecules on antigen presenting cells and in signal transduction via protein tyrosine kinase, Lck. The RM4-5 mAb can be used in immunostaining for flow cytometry and for immunohistochemistry on acetone-fixed, frozen tissue sections.
