The CD4, clone RM4-5, Qdot® 605 nanocrystal conjugate is a monoclonal rat antibody that recognizes the mouse CD4 antigen. The Qdot® 605 nanocrystal conjugate may be used in the same way as conventional antibody conjugates and permits simultaneous multicolor labeling and detection of multiple targets with excitation by a single excitation source-the 488 nm line of the argon-ion laser, or alternatively via excitation at 405 nm.

Specificity for CD4
The RM4-5 monoclonal antibody (mAb) reacts with CD4 antigen that is expressed on the majority of thymocytes and on the MHC class II restricted subset of mature T cells, including Th cells. Mouse CD4 antigen has also been reported to be present on multipotential hematopoietic stem cells, bone marrow myeloid precursors, and intrathymic precursors. As a co-receptor in the TCR complex, CD4 is involved in T-cell activation through interaction with MHC class II on antigen presenting cells and in signal transduction via protein tyrosine kinase lck. The RM4-5 mAb can be used in immunostaining for flow cytometry and for immunohistochemistry on acetone-fixed, frozen tissue sections.
