PIK3CD (p110 delta) is a class IA PI3K that elicits signaling cascasdes by phosphorylation of the 3 position of PIP2. Unlike the widely expressed Class IA alpha and beta enzymes, the delta isoform is expressed primarily in leukocytes. PIK3CD is coexpressed and copurified with the regulatory subunit PIK3R1.
