The Glycophorin A (CD235A), clone CLB-ery-1 (also known as AME-1), R-PE (phycoerythrin) conjugate is a monoclonal mouse antibody that is specific to the human CD235A antigen and recognizes the expressed product of the GYPA gene. R-PE is a stable and highly soluble phycobiliprotein which provides maximal absorbance and fluorescence without susceptibility to internal or external fluorescence quenching, thus providing an exceptional quantum yields and molar extinction coefficients. Use of R-PE in antibody conjugates provide probes with greatly enhanced detectability.


Specificity for CD235A
This antibody recognizes a papain-sensitive epitope in the extracellular domain of the sialoglycoprotein known as glycophorin A (CD235a). This molecule is expressed on mature red blood cells as well as on erythroid precursor cells. In addition to immunostaining for flow cytometry, this antibody has been reported to be useful for fluorescence microscopy and western blot analysis.
