According to the literature this antibody recognizes the CD14 antigen. This molecule is a high affinity, GPI-linked receptor for lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and LPS binding protein (LPB). CD14 is expressed at high levels on peripheral blood monocytes. This receptor is also expressed on macrophages, dendritic cells and some Langerhans cells.
