This rat monoclonal antibody to the mouse CD4 antigen is conjugated to Pacific Blue™ . With a peak emission wavelength of 455 nm, Pacific Blue™ conjugates are strongly fluorescent at neutral pH and ideally suited for 450 nm Em band pass filter sets off the violet laser.
Every Lot is Tested by Flow Cytometry
Every lot is tested by flow cytometry using freshly harvested mouse splenocytes. From this testing it is recommended that between 0.1 and 0.25 µg of antibody be used per 1 x 10e6 cells in a 100 µl staining volume. Because conditions may vary, it is recommended that each investigator determine the optimal amount of antibody for each application.

Specific for CD4
The RM4-5 monoclonal antibody (mAb) reacts with CD4 antigen which is expressed on the majority of thymocytes and on the MHC class II restricted subset of mature T cells, including Th cells. Mouse CD4 antigen has also been reported to be present on multipotential hematopoietic stem cells, bone marrow myeloid precursors, and intrathymic precursors. As a co-receptor in the TCR complex, CD4 is involved in T-cell activation through interaction with MHC class II on antigen presenting cells and in signal transduction via protein tyrosine kinase lck.
