Innovative, Straight-From-Culture Automation
Going straight from culture to purified plasmid, the BenchPro® 2100 simplifies the standard, 22-step process of manual plasmid purification down a few easy set-up steps that can be performed typically in less than 5 minutes. Assemble the Reagent Tray and Cell Liner on the Waste Tray, and add your 125-ml E. coli culture to the Cell Liner. Then load the BenchPro® 2100 Plasmid Purification Card into one of the instrument slots, and run the purification protocol.

Unparalleled Yield and Purity
The BenchPro® 2100 Plasmid Purification Card at the core of the instrument is a disposable, fluidics card that contains a novel anion-exchange membrane that provides the same high-quality plasmid DNA as our manual PureLink® HiPure kits provide. Each plasmid preparation can be trusted for use in many applications – mammalian cell transfection, automated and manual sequencing, PCR amplification, cloning, transformation, and in vitro transcription. The BenchPro® 2100 system is able to reproducibly purify a range of plasmid sizes, from 2.7 to 20 kb (Figure 1). Plasmid yields from the BenchPro® 2100 are unmatched by those achieved by alternative methods (Figure 2).

Minimizes Variation and User Error
The BenchPro® 2100 Plasmid Purification System is designed to provide consistency and reliability by using prefilled and sealed reagents. All required buffers in appropriate volumes are supplied in a sealed Reagent Tray, and a disposable Cell Liner (for the addition of culture) with lid is included. The BenchPro® 2100 Plasmid Purification System accurately performs all steps of the purification process to help deliver consistent yield (Figure 3), eliminating the tedious and repetitive liquid-handling steps associated with the manual process of plasmid purification. During the automated purification protocol, pre-defined amounts of each reagent are sequentially pumped into the card, and incubation steps performed according to the protocol. Using a series of capture and purification membranes, E. coli cells are harvested and lysed, and the lysate clarified. By minimizing the number of hands-on steps, the BenchPro® 2100 Plasmid Purification System enhances experimental reproducibility and data consistency run after run.
