The E-Gel® Go! Base is the cornerstone of the innovative E-Gel Go! system. The E-Gel Go! Base is a compact device that is used to run E-Gel Go! precast agarose gel cassettes and also to visualize band migration in real time. The E-Gel Go! Base is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, but powerful enough to integrate an electrophoresis power supply and real time, blue light transilluminator. The E-Gel Go! Base is designed specifically for use with E-Gel Go! precast agarose gel cassettes and is the perfect solution for agarose gel electrophoresis when you need to do a quick check of only a few samples.

E-Gel Go! is the newest member of the groundbreaking E-Gel precast agarose gel family. All E-Gel products offer the convenience of precast, self contained, bufferless, room temperature stable agarose gels and E-Gel Go! is the perfect flavor of E-Gel for when you only need to run a few samples. Each E-Gel Go! precast agarose gel has four lanes, perfect for doing a quick check of end point PCRs, restriction digests, plasmid preps or other molecular biology reactions. The E-Gel Go! Base is both the power supply you need to run E-Gel Go! precast agarose gels and a real time, blue light transilluminator that can be used to visualize band progress during or after the run. For running and visualizing E-Gel Go! precast agarose gels the E-Gel Go! Base is the only device you need.

Capture Gel Images From The Base
The E-Gel Go! Base has been specifically designed to work with gel documentation systems to allow image capture. The E-Gel Go! Base has an on-board battery that can power the integrated blue light transilluminator, allowing you to place the entire device into your gel doc system. Once the E-Gel Go! Base is in the gel doc you can raise or lower the amber cover on the Base to allow proper light filtering, and turn on the transilluminator. There are no wires to run through or around doors, no light contamination from incomplete closure, just great images of your E-Gel Go! precast agarose gel and your samples. E-Gel Go! is also compatible with the E-Gel Imager Adaptor Base and by coupling the two systems you can capture images of your run in real time or capture exceptional images once the run is completed.

Another innovative part of the E-Gel Go! system is the Portable Battery Pack. When you couple the E-Gel Go! Base to the E-Gel Go! Portable Battery Pack you have the makings of the world’s best mobile nucleic acid electrophoresis system. The E-Gel Go! Base has an integrated battery that allows for visualization but by utilizing the Portable Battery Pack you can actually run your gels on the go. The E-Gel Go! Base with Portable Battery pack are the perfect solution for running gels outside the lab, be that in the field, on your way to class, sitting in a seminar or treating yourself to a quick coffee break.

Simple Interface, Sleek Design
The E-Gel Go! Base offers an extremely simple and intuitive user interface wrapped in a sleek, sexy design. There are only two buttons that control the entire device. Pressing the light button on the left side of the E-Gel Go! Base will activate the blue light transilluminator and allow you to visualize the bands on your E-Gel Go! precast agarose gel. Pressing and holding the power button on the right side of the device will allow you to set the time for your run. Once the run time is set pressing the power button will start the run. The E-Gel Go! Base will not function without an E-Gel Go! precast agarose gel being loaded.
