The ε-FMOC derivative of ε-dabcyl-FMOC-L-lysine can be used to incorporate the dabcyl chromopore at selsected sites in a peptide sequence. The dabcyl chromophore, which has broad visible absorption has been extensively used as a quenching group in fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) applications.
