The CD3, clone UCHT1, R-PE (phycoerythrin) dye conjugate is a monoclonal antibody that is reactive to the human CD3 antigen and recognizes the expressed product of the CD3D gene. R-PE is a stable and highly soluble phycobiliprotein which provides maximal absorbance and fluorescence emission without susceptibility to internal or external fluorescence quenching, thus providing an exceptional quantum yields and molar extinction coefficients. Use of R-PE in antibody conjugates results in probes with greatly enhanced detectability.


Specificity for CD3
The UCHT1 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD3ε, a 20 kDa subunit of the TCR/CD3 complex. Along with the other CD3 subunits γ and δ, the ε chain is required for proper assembly, trafficking, and surface expression of the TCR complex. CD3 is expressed by developing thymocytes and by all mature T cells. Crosslinking of TCR via immobilized UCHT1 results in T-cell proliferation.
