The cell-impermeant visible light-excitable Ca2+ indicator Calcium Orange™ dye exhibits an increase in fluorescence emission intensity upon binding Ca2+ with little shift in wavelength. Calcium Orange™ dye has an excitation maxium near 550 nm and is compatible with standard tetramethylrhodamine optical filters.
