Bolt® Bis-Tris Plus gels are precast polyacrylamide gels designed for optimal separation of your small- to medium-sized proteins under denaturing conditions. Similar to NuPAGE® Bis-Tris gels, Bolt® Bis-Tris Plus gels are designed to deliver consistent gel performance and provide a neutral pH environment that minimizes protein modifications. Bolt® gels are ideal for western blot transfer and analysis, and any other techniques where protein integrity is crucial. Also use Bolt® gels to obtain optimal results for your day-to-day protein separation needs. Bolt® Bis-Tris Plus gels come in four gel types and multiple well formats. Each box contains 10 gels. A
Bolt® Mini Gel Tank is required for use of all Bolt® gels.
Features include:
• Optimized run conditions—separate your proteins using constant voltage in approximately 35 minutes
• Long shelf life—store gels for at least 16 months at 4–25°C
• Better protein integrity—neutral pH sample preparation process preserves your proteins
• Wedge-shaped wells—for easier sample loading and up to two times higher sample volume
• Multi-channel pipettor compatible—achieve high throughput sample preparation and loading using the 17-well format
Choose the Right Bolt® Bis-Tris Plus Gels for Your Protein SeparationObtain optimal separation of your proteins by choosing the right combination of gel and running buffer. Bolt® Bis-Tris Plus gels come in 4 polyacrylamide concentrations: 8%, 10%, 12%, and 4–12% gradient. The gels can be run using Bolt® MES or Bolt® MOPS SDS running buffer to obtain different separation ranges. Bolt® gels consist of a neutral pH buffered (pH 6.4) polyacrylamide gel and have an operating pH of about 7.0. Bolt® Bis-Tris Plus gels also come in 4 different well formats: 10, 12, 15, and 17 wells.
Convenient to UseBolt® Bis-Tris Plus gels can be run using constant voltage in approximately 35 minutes with the Bolt® MES running buffer. Bolt® gels offer sharper bands, high resolution, longer shelf life, and higher accuracy of results than tris-glycine-based gels. In addition, Bolt® Bis-Tris Plus gels have innovative wedge-shaped wells that allow up to two times more sample load volume than other 1.0 mm-thick gels. The wedge-shaped wells also have larger openings, making sample loading easier. And Bolt® gels have a shelf life of at least 16 months at 4°C to 25°C.
New Electrophoresis Tank DesignBolt® Bis-Tris Plus gels are designed for use with the
Bolt® Mini Gel Tank. In addition, we recommend the use of Bolt® MES or MOPS SDS running buffers with these gels.
Note: Bolt® Bis-Tris Plus gels, once removed from the cassette, are compatible with the
Bolt® Mini Blot Module and
iBlot® Gel Transfer Device for efficient and reliable western blot transfer.
