Gibco® SensiCell™ DMEM/F-12 (Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium/Ham’s F-12) is an enriched basal medium that enhances growth of sensitive or difficult-to-culture mammalian cells with standard Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS) supplementation. Compared to classic DMEM/F-12, SensiCell™ DMEM/F-12 is formulated with GlutaMAX™ and additional nutrients that can increase cell viability and viable cell density. SensiCell™ DMEM/F-12 requires supplementation, commonly with 10% Fetal Bovine Serum. Many cell lines do not require adaptation to this media.

SensiCell™ DMEM/F-12 uses a sodium bicarbonate buffer system (2.4 g/L) and therefore requires a 5–10% CO2 environment to maintain physiological pH. Cells successfully cultured in SensiCell™ DMEM/F-12, with little or no adaptation, include ST-486 and HL-60.
