The CD21/CD35 (CR2/CR1), clone 7E9, APC Conjugate is a rat monoclonal antibody (mAb) that recognizes the shared epitope of CD21 (complement receptor 2) and CD35 (complement receptor 1). APC (allophycocyanin) is one of the brightest dyes used today. It is a stable and highly soluble phycobiliprotein, which provides maximal absorbance and fluorescence without susceptibility to internal or external fluorescence quenching. APC provides almost perfect quantum efficiencies and molar extinction coefficients. Use of APC in antibody conjugates results in probes with greatly enhanced detectability.

Specific for CD21/CD35
The CD21/CD35 rat monoclonal antibody (mAb) recognizes an epitope that is shared by both CD21, also known as complement receptor 2 (CR2) and CD35, also known as complement receptor 1 (CR1). The CD21 protein binds C3d and iC3b complement fragments and acts as a receptor of Epstein-Barr virus; while the CD35 protein binds C3b, iC3b, C4b, and iC4b complement fragments. The CD21/CD35 shared epitope is primarily expressed on B lymphocytes, mast cells, follicular dendritic cells, macrophages, and activated granulocytes. It is a component of the B-cell antigen receptor complex and is involved in signal transduction.
