The CD43, clone 1B11, PE-Cy®7 conjugate is a rat monoclonal antibody (mAb) that recognizes the activation-associated glycoform of CD43. The R-phycoerythrin (PE)-Cy®7 tandem conjugate permits simultaneous multicolor labeling and detection of multiple targets with excitation by a single excitation source – the 488 nm line of the argon-ion laser.


Specific for CD43
CD43, also known as leukosialin or sialophorin, is a large single chain type I transmembrane glycoprotein receptor. It plays roles in promoting and inhibiting cell adhesion, co-stimulating T-cell activation and survival, and inducing apoptosis in T-cells and hematopoietic progenitors. The two isoforms (CD43 115-kD glycoform and CD43 130-kD glycoform) differ with respect to the structure of their attached O-glycans. Interestingly, their expression is also mutually exclusive. CD43 115-kD glycoform is expressed on T lymphocytes, NK cells, monocytes, granulocytes, platelets, and CD5+ B cells; while CD43 130-kD glycoform is primarily expressed on myeloid cells, pre-B cells, and activated T cells. The CD43, clone 1B11, rat monoclonal antibody (mAb) recognizes the activation-associated 130-kDa glycoform.
