The IL-17A, clone eBio17B7, Alexa Fluor® 647 conjugate is a rat monoclonal antibody (mAb) that recognizes mouse IL-17A, but not IL-17F. The Alexa Fluor® 647 dye conjugate provides an excellent spectral match to the common long-wavelength excitation sources, with a high extinction coefficient. The fluorescence emission of these conjugates virtually matches that of Cy®5 dye, so optical filters designed for Cy®5 dye are ideal.

IL-17A
The rat anti-mouse/rat IL-17A monoclonal antibody (mAb) reacts specifically with mouse Interleukin-17A (IL-17A), which is a CD4+ T cell-derived cytokine. IL-17A promotes inflammatory responses in cell lines and is elevated in asthma, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, and transplant rejection. IL-17A exists as a glycosylated disulfide-linked homodimer and high levels of the homodimer are produced by activated peripheral blood CD4+ T-cells. Human IL-17A can enhance expression of the intracellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1); stimulate secretion of IL-6, IL-8, G-CSF, and PGE2 in epithelial, endothelial, or fibroblastic cells; sustain the proliferation of CD34+ hematopoietic progenitors; and induce maturation into neutrophils when co-cultured with fibroblasts. Studies indicate that all homologs recognize the mouse IL-17A receptor; since mouse, rat, and human IL-17A can induce IL-6 secretion in stromal cells of mice.
