CD48
The hamster anti-mouse CD48 monoclonal antibody (mAb) reacts with the mouse CD48 antigen, which is a member of the SLAM family and the Ig superfamily. It is a GPI-linked glycoprotein expressed on most hematopoietic cells. Studies show that differential expression of SLAM family members, including CD48, may provide a useful method to determine the primitiveness of hematopoietic progenitors. CD48 also plays a critical role in adhesion and T-cell activation. In mice, the primary counter-receptors for CD48 are CD2 and CD244.
