The SSEA-4, clone eBioMC-813-70 (MC-813-70), R-PE conjugate is a mouse monoclonal antibody (mAb) that recognizes stage-specific embryonic antigen-4 (SSEA-4) protein. The conjugate, R-PE (phycoerythrin), is a stable and highly soluble phycobiliprotein which provides maximal absorbance and fluorescence without susceptibility to internal or external fluorescence quenching; thus, PE provides exceptional quantum yields, molar extinction coefficients, and greatly enhanced detectability.


SSEA-4
The mouse anti-human SSEA4 monoclonal antibody (mAb) recognizes the stage-specific embryonic antigens (SSEAs), which are cell-surface molecules that exhibit lineage-restricted patterns of expression during development. SSEA4 act as a surface marker for human embryonic stem cells (ES). It is also expressed on the surface of human embryonal carcinoma (EC) cells, human embryonic germ cells (EG), mesenchymal stem cells (MSC), and in early neuroepithelium. Besides expression in embryonic cells, SSEA4 is also present in human erythrocytes.
