CD335 (NKp64)
The rat anti-mouse CD335 (NKp64) monoclonal antibody (mAb) recognizes mouse CD335, which is a member of the natural cytotoxicity receptor (NCR) family. CD335 is a glycoprotein with 2 Ig-like domains and a short cytoplasmic tail. While other NK markers also stain NKT cells, expression of CD335 is unique only to NK cells, which allows discrimination between NKT cells and NK cells (NKp46+, CD3-), including immature NK cells (DX5- CD3-). Furthermore, the rat anti-mouse CD335 (NKp64) mAb is not strain-specific, with documented staining observed in C57BL/6, SJL, CBA/CA, and BALB/c mice. CD335 also appears to play a role in NK cell-mediated lysis of several tumor and pathogen-infected cell lines.
