Chromosome 17 Centromere CISH Probe may be useful in assisting in the evaluation of results from other ISH assays that detect gene amplification markers on chromosome 17 such as HER2 or TOP2A. Specific gene amplification can vary from a low number of extra copies to dozens of extra copies. However, when the number of extra gene copies is low, there is the possibility that the extra copies are caused by chromosomal aneuploidy and not specific gene amplification. The Chromosome 17 Centromere CISH Probe may then be used to confirm if the extra gene copies are caused by chromosomal aneuploidy.
