Polybromo-1 protein (Pb1) is a ubiquitously expressed 187 kDa protein containing six tandem bromodomains and two BAH domain (Bromo-Associated Homology domain). Pb1 has been shown to be a component of the chromatin-remodeling complex PBAF (1), and plays a central role in chromatin localization and the assembly of protein subunits (2). The bromodomains are key to this process in recognizing the acetylation pattern on the Histone proteins (3).
