Specific for P53 [AcK 382]
p53, also known as protein 53 or tumor protein 53, is a tumor suppressor protein that in humans is encoded by the TP53 gene. p53 is crucial in multicellular organisms, where it regulates the cell cycle. The acetylated form of p53 has a longer half-life due to a significant decrease in p53 ubiquitination. p53 acetylation at K382 is required for the recruitment of p300 to the p21 promoter.
