Specific for TNF-alpha
Tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) is a pleiotropic inflammatory cytokine that stimulates acute phase reactions. The primary role of TNF-α is in the regulation of immune cells. Other beneficial functions of TNF-α include its role in the immune response to bacterial, and certain fungal, viral, and parasitic invasions, as well as its role in the necrosis of specific tumors. TNF-α is a stable 51 kDa trimer.
