Specific for BAFF
BAFF or TNFSF13b (tumor necrosis factor superfamily, member 13b) is a cytokine expressed by B cell lineage cells. This cytokine binds to receptors TNFRSF13B/TACI, TNFRSF17/BCMA, and TNFRSF13C/BAFFR, and is a potent B cell activator. It is important for the proliferation and differentiation of B cells. Isoforms representing alternatively spliced variants have been identified.BAFF (and the related ligand APRIL) is expressed by T lymphocytes and has been shown to promote T cell activation and survival.
