Life Technologies' oligoclonal antibodies are a pool of monoclonal rabbit IgG antibodies targeted against a specific antigen. Oligoclonal antibodies are produced by transfection of mammalian cells with heavy and light chain antibody cDNAs. This provides you with the highest consistency between lots, eliminating the need to revalidate your assays for each lot.

Hiwi is a member of the subfamily of proteins known as Piwi (P-element induced wimpy testis) of Argonaute proteins. Hiwi is specifically expressed in germline cells, with its expression detectable in spermatocytes and round spermatids during spermatogenesis. It has been found that Hiwi is expressed in CD34+ hematopoietic progenitors, but not in CD34- hematopoietic cells, suggesting a role for this gene in the maintenance of hematopoietic stem cells. It is overexpressed in seminomas, but not in nonseminomas, spermatocytic seminomas, and somatic testicular tumors. Nonseminomas do not show enhanced Hiwi expression likely because these tumors have lost their germline properties, even though they also originate from the same precursor cells as seminomas.

Recombinant Rabbit IgG-Use Like Any Other IgG Antibody
As with traditional IgG antibodies, gel electrophoresis of rabbit oligoclonal antibodies produces a 150 kDa band under non-reducing conditions and 50 kDa and 25 kDa bands under reducing conditions.
