Invitrogen's oligoclonal antibodies are a pool of monoclonal rabbit IgG antibodies targeted against a specific antigen. Oligoclonal antibodies are produced by transfection of mammalian cells with heavy and light chain antibody cDNAs. This provides you with the highest consistency between lots, eliminating the need to revalidate your assays for each lot.

FGFb (fibroblast growth factor basic) or FGF2, belongs to the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family, which binds heparin and possess broad mitogenic and angiogenic activities, and can influence cell proliferation and tissue neovascularization. FGFs cause a cellular response through their interactions with high-affinity transmembrane receptors. FGFb exists as five isoforms with distinct intracellular localizations and functions. The 18 kDa isoform is predominantly cytosolic and acts through cell surface receptors, whereas the 22, 22.5, 24, and 34 kDa isoforms are nuclear and may signal independently of transmembrane receptor pathways. FGFb has been found to enhance the growth of primary cell cultures in vivo. In humans, the gene encoding FGFb is located on the q arm of chromosome 4.

As with traditional IgG antibodies, gel electrophoresis of rabbit oligoclonal antibodies produces a 150 kDa band under non-reducing conditions and 50 kDa and 25 kDa bands under reducing conditions.
