This purified ABfinity™ recombinant rabbit anti-AKT [pS473] monoclonal antibody reacts with human and mouse AKT1 [pS473]. AKT1 [pS473] is encoded by the 207 gene, also known as RAC-alpha serine/threonine-protein kinase, RAC-PK-alpha, protein kinase B (PKB). Anti-AKT [pS473] monoclonal antibody is used in western blotting, ELISA, flow cytometry, immunofluorescence, and immunohistochemistry applications.

Akt, also known as protein kinase B (PKB) or RAC-alpha, is an ubiquitous serine/threonine kinase that plays an important role in diverse biological responses such as regulation of metabolism, cell survival and growth by phosphorylating multiple proteins. Akt is phosphorylated on threonine 308 by PDK1 and on serine 473 by PDK2. In addition to the two sites, phosphorylation at tyrosine 474 is required for full activation of Akt. The sequence used to make this antibody is conserved between Akt1, Akt2 and Akt3 in humans, as well as multiple other species.
