The purified rabbit anti-aquaporin 2 [pS261] polyclonal antibody is specific to rat. This aquaporin 2 [pS261], phosphospecific antibody recognizes the expressed product of the Aqp2 gene, also known as aquaporin 2, aquaporin-CD, collecting duct water channel protein, water-channel aquaporin 2, AQP-CD, MGC34501, and WCH-CD. Aquaporin 2 (AQP2) is a hormonally regulated water channel located in the renal collecting duct. This rabbit anti-aquaporin 2 [pS261] polyclonal antibody is validated for use in western blotting.
• Applications: The validated application for this rabbit anti-aquaporin 2 [pS261] polyclonal antibody is western blotting. • Host Species and Isotype: The host species of the anti-aquaporin 2 [pS261] polyclonal antibody is rabbit and the isotype is IgG1. • Reactivity: Detects rat aquaporin 2 [pS261]. • Product Size: Rabbit anti-aquaporin 2 [pS261] polyclonal antibody is available in a 100 µl pack size.
Aquaporin 2 (AQP2) is a hormonally regulated water channel located in the renal collecting duct. Mutations in the AQP2 gene cause hereditary nephrogenic diabetes insipidus in humans. A vasopressin induced cAMP increase results in the phosphorylation of AQP2 at serine-256 and its translocation from the intracellular vesicles to the apical membrane of principal cells. Recently, serine-261 has been identified as a novel phosphorylation site on AQP2 and levels of phosphorylated S261 have been shown to decrease with vasopressin treatment suggesting its involvement in vasopressin-dependent AQP2 trafficking.
