The AmpFLSTR® COfiler® PCR Amplification Kit complements the AmpFLSTR® Profiler Plus® PCR Amplification Kit. The two kits together provide human identification laboratories with the ability to generate information for all 13 core STR loci required by the Combined DNA Index System (CODIS) database in just two PCR amplifications.
Features of the The AmpFLSTR® COfiler® PCR Amplification Kit:
• Six tetranucleotide repeat loci and the Amelogenin locus co-amplified in a single tube for ease of use
• Complements the AmpFLSTR® Profiler Plus® kit providing laboratories with the ability to generate information for all 13 core STR loci required by the Combined DNA Index System (CODIS) database
• Includes AmpliTaq Gold® DNA Polymerase for increased sensitivity and specificity
• Conveys certain rights to perform research and forensic testing services when used with an authorized thermal cycler
• Conveys the PCR service rights for paternity testing
The Profiler Plus® kit amplifies nine of the selected STR loci. The COfiler kit amplifies the four remaining STR loci (CSF1P0, D16S539, Th01, and TP0X) as well as two STR loci D3S1358 and D7S820, also found in the Profiler Plus kit. The overlap of the two STR loci and the Amelogenin locus provides laboratories with the confidence that both reactions have amplified the same sample.
Rigorous Quality Control
As with other AmpFLSTR® products, purchase of the AmpFLSTR® COfiler® kit confers, upon the user, specific PCR license rights for forensic and research use when used with an authorized thermal cycler. Purchase of the kit also conveys the PCR service rights for paternity testing. The AmpFLSTR® COfiler® kit has been subjected to rigorous quality-control testing to ensure reliable performance. Experiments have been performed based upon the TWGDAM recommended guidelines. (Technical Working Group on DNA Analysis Methods. 1995. Guidelines for a Quality Assurance Program for DNA Analysis. Crime Lab Digest 22:21 to 43.) These results have been summarized and submitted for peer review publication.
Note: For Forensic or Paternity Use Only.
The purchase of this product conveys to the buyer the non-transferable license to use the purchased amount of the product only for forensic or paternity testing conducted by the buyer. This license does not include, as ruled by a U.S. Court, a license to use this product in chimerism determination or analysis, molar specimens classification, cell line authentication, determination of fetal sex, cancer analysis, genetic research, non-casework-related forensic applications (such as general research in forensics or teaching and training persons not employed in a forensic laboratory), identifying or determining maternal cell contamination, or sample tracking. Further rights can be obtained by contacting Promega Corp., 2800 Woods Hollow Rd., Madison, WI 53711 USA.
