Life Technologies has combined the advantages of PCR-based testing and fluorescence detection into a highly discriminating kit designed for human identification applications. The AmpFLSTR® Profiler Plus® PCR Amplification Kit amplifies nine tetranucleotide short tandem repeat (STR) loci and the Amelogenin locus in a single reaction tube. The STR loci amplified are D3S1358, D5S818, D7S820, D8S1179, D13S317, D18S51, D21S11, FGA, and vWA.

Key Features of the AmpFLSTR® Profiler Plus® PCR Amplification Kit:

• Nine tetranucleotide STR loci and the Amelogenin locus co-amplified in a single tube for ease of use
• Use in conjunction with COfiler PCR Amplification Kit
• Includes AmpliTaq Gold® DNA Polymerase for increased sensitivity and specificity
• Conveys certain rights to perform research and forensic testing services when used with an authorized thermal cycler
• Conveys the PCR service rights for paternity testing

Clear Differentiation
The Amelogenin locus is used for gender identification because products of different lengths are generated from the X and Y chromosomes.

Quality Results
The AmpFLSTR® Profiler Plus® reagents and protocols produce the quality results necessary for human identification applications. To increase the success of obtaining results in the presence of enzyme inhibitors, bovine serum albumin (BSA) has been included in the AmpFLSTR® PCR Reaction Mix.

Sensitivity
Thermal cycler times and temperatures selectively amplify DNA sequences while providing the necessary degree of sensitivity. The recommended range of input DNA is 1.0 to 2.5 ng. Furthermore, instrument detection protocols yield reproducible results with excellent resolution and precision in sizing alleles.

Reliability
AmpFLSTR® Profiler Plus® kit is subjected to rigorous quality control testing to ensure reliable performance. Experiments are performed based upon the TWGDAM recommended guidelines (Technical Working Group on DNA Analysis Methods. 1995. Guidelines for a Quality Assurance Program for DNA Analysis. Crime Lab Digest 22:21-43). These results have been summarized and submitted for peer review publication.

Note: For Forensic or Paternity Use Only.
