Tfi DNA Polymerase is a new non-
Taq based, PCR enzyme derived from
Thermus filiformis for use in PCR applications without any licensing fees. Like
Taq, Tfi has 5'→3' exonuclease and 5'→3' polymerase activity. PCR performance is comparable to
Taq DNA polymerase in yield, specificity, fidelity, and robustness (Figure 1, A and B).
Tfi can be substituted for
Taq DNA Polymerase in virtually any application and is ideal for genomic, cDNA, and plasmid targets up to 4 kb in length. In addition,
Tfi is free of licensing restrictions that accompany
Taq polymerase.
Tfi can be considered for use as a component in a diagnostic application if qualified by the end user. With
Tfi DNA Polymerase, you'll:
- Eliminate licensing fees and restrictions associated with Taq-based enzymes
- Save money-Tfi is half the price of Taq DNA Polymerase
- Achieve yield, specificity, and fidelity comparable to Taq DNA polymerase
- No need to reoptimize - swap out Taq for Tfi
- Tfi is also available in special pack sizes and for OEM customers needing PCR kit manufacturing flexibility.
