The SuperScript® One-Step RT-PCR Systems provide high sensitivity. They are suitable for generating RT-PCR products from total or poly(A) + RNA in a single tube (1,2). These systems can be used for fast and easy screening of gene expression, detection of rare RNA, and detection of viral RNA. The reverse transcription and amplification steps take place sequentially in a single tube, under conditions optimal for both SuperScript® II RT and the DNA polymerase. This one-step format reduces reaction-to-reaction variability for improved reproducibility of RT-PCR results (Figure 1). The SuperScript® One-Step RT-PCR Systems:
  • Are easy to use–just add RNA and gene-specific primers
  • Use the advanced capabilities of SuperScript® II RT for greater first-strand cDNA yields
  • Use Platinum® Taq DNA Polymerase with automatic "hot-start" for improved specifity
  • Detect as little as 5 to 10 molecules of RNA template from as little as 0.1 pg of total RNA
