Excellent Yield, Purity, and Viability of Recovered Monocytes
Dynabeads® CD14 are uniform, superparamagnetic beads (4.5 µm diameter) that enable easy isolation of human monocytes directly from any sample. Dynabeads® CD14 beads are coated with a primary monoclonal antibody specific for the CD14 membrane antigen mainly expressed on human monocytes and macrophages. Dynabeads® CD14 bind to the monocytes during a short incubation period in a tube, after which the bead-bound cells are separated from unbound cells using a magnet. This fast and gentle isolation method does not require the use of columns, and helps ensure high purity, recovery and viability of the isolated monocytes.

Ideal for Both Depletion and Positive Isolation for Downstream Molecular Assays
Because of the powerful magnets used for separation, Dynabeads® CD14 can be used in viscous samples such as whole blood and bone marrow, thereby providing an efficient method for the depletion of monocytes in about 30 minutes. Dynabeads® CD14 will also afford excellent recovery of high-purity, viable cells for use in downstream molecular studies; for example, those in which cells are to be lysed while still attached to beads, and nucleic acids or proteins further purified. Note that intact cells will not be released from these beads, so if you want to isolate the monocytes for cell-based applications, or you need to check your samples with flow cytometry, use Dynabeads® FlowComp™ Human CD14 (for bead-free cells) or Dynabeads® Untouched™ Human Monocytes to obtain untouched monocytes.
